There is probably no more refreshing way to enjoy the flavours of top quality Scotch whisky than in a classic Highball made with just whisky, ice and a good quality soda water (known also as 'club soda').
The enjoyment of this drink dates back to the 19th century in Europe and the UK, made its way to North America no later than the 1920s where it became a staple cocktail in most every bar. It makes no difference if your Highball is made with soda water or another type of soft drink, and many different spirit types can be used. But, of course, we love the traditional Scotch whisky Highball, for which Great King Street 'Artist's Blend' was especially created.
Today in Japan, whisky Highballs are immensely popular. In most other parts of the world, people are just waking up (or re-awakening) to the possibilities.
We invite you join us as we lead a renaissance in the enjoyment and popularity of the Highball. Simply fill a glass generously with ice, add a measure of whisky and top with soda water. The proportions are up to you. (We like 60/40, soda/whisky.)
