The ultimate ‘everyday’, ‘before dinner’ or ‘Sunday afternoon’ Scotch whisky, the secret was in the quality of the casks. Exclusively made with whiskies aged in first-fill American oak, Asyla boasted more sweetness and richness than whiskies from refill. Asyla takes its name from the plural of asylum – a word rich in ambiguity, suggesting that delicate balance between madhouse and sanctuary.
Sadly the components that made Asyla so beguiling are no longer readily available and so we made the difficult decision to retire a much beloved whisky, rather than compromise on quality.
